The General Auditing Commission, taking cognizance of the saying "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy" stormed the SKD Sports Complex in a spectacular football march in which it walked over its opponent from the Ministry of Commerce.
The tournament is an annual showbiz amongst government paristatals to foster cordiality and collectivism. It is organized by the Youth and Sports Ministry-government’s arm and covers sporting disciplines. The auditors had initially secured free points when their opponents forfeited their group fixture matches. The Ministry of State, the home of the Liberia’s presidency, failed to show up against the GAC in May. |

Department of Communications General Auditing Commission (GAC) Ashmun Street Monrovia, Liberia Mr. Joseph J. Sankatuah President Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) Camp Johnson Road May 22, 2009 Dear Mr. Sankatuah: I write with reference to the stories published May 19 and 20, 2009 respectively in the Inquirer and Daily Observer Newspapers alluding to remarks you reportedly made on 14 May 2009 regarding audit reports on the Ministry of Youth & Sports released by the General Auditing Commission (GAC). You reportedly made the remarks when you served as the keynote speaker at the launch of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) Resource and Recreation Center in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.
These two local dailies, strangely with analogous and corresponding contents, referenced you as saying: “The national youth leader used the occasion to question the motive of the General Auditing Commission (GAC)’s audit report indicting the Ministry of Youth and Sports as squandering the funds intended for construction of the center. According to the GAC audit report, the center did not exist.” |
